Your grocery bill should not be eating you!
Do you like to eat good meals but don't like to spend hours in the kitchen every night. Are you ready to drive away from fast food without giving up the convenience?
Learn how to get your family meals for $10.00 or less. Even if you don't have a large family this strategy to save money on meals is worth hundreds of dollars every year. Good food should not eat you out of house-n-home, you just need to be creative and have a little pre-planning when it comes to meals.
Ok so are you ready to learn how to make 40 family sized meals for $400.00 or less and only have to spend 2-3 days a year cooking.... I thought so.
The three components are Freezer Zip-loc Baggies, 20 of your favorite recipes and a day with a friend, yep that's all!
You can take any recipe and turn it into a freezer meal for future use, you can do this with:
Lasagna, chili, chicken fettuccini, French dip sandwiches, Pot roast, enchiladas, Stir fry, any chicken dish, Tacos, Stroganoff, Soups, Pasta dishes, Meat dishes, Potato dishes, bread, cookie dough, fajita, Italian, Mexican, American, Chinese, casual or fancy. If you have the recipe you can make it and freeze it and NO One will be able to know otherwise.
- Take 20 of your families favorite recipes write down all the necessary ingredients
- Call up a friend set day
- Go shopping and
- Start cooking...
It's that simple. If you take one whole Saturday and prepare and freeze 20-30 meals you will only have to cook 2-3 times a year depending on your personal situation. Plus you can spend the day laughing, talking, catching up, watching favorite movies or even watching a ball game with a friend. When you partner with a friend it makes the work all that much lighter, they can bring their recipes and ingredients and you can have yours or you both do all the same ones.
Imagine the time you will save not cooking every night, just pull out a dinner let it thaw, pop it in the oven andvola you have healthy home cooked meals in minutes on a shoe string budget.
Tips:
- If the recipe calls for rice or pasta, leave that out until you are ready to prepare and serve they absorb the moisture. Just prepare the rest of the ingredients ahead of time.
- Use Freezer quality baggies
- Freeze flat and stack side by side to utilize freezer space
- Top most dishes with cheese after your done baking them
- Buy ingredients in bulk such as meat, cheese, sour cream to get a better price per meal
- Watch for sales on items you made use and store them
- If you don't want to do a whole Saturday, just double your batches as you make meals and start saving the extra portions for future meals. If your going to make one batch it is just as easy to do two.
- If you have recipes with some of the same ingredient do it all at once like; multiple recipes with chicken, cook all the chicken at once. If you have multiple recipes with potatoes prepare them all at once...
